It's just me.

My friend Annie introduced me to blogging and this website. I've been so inspired by her posts and impressed by her better than Martha Stewart talents.

I've always liked to entertain, decorate and cook. I never had a captive audience until I got married (at the ripe old age of 35.) Now we experiment with new dishes, new decorations and vegetables to grow in our garden. We grew pumpkins and gourds for the first time this year. My pumpkins won't be ready until Thanksgiving, but we should have about 7 that reach maturity. I plan on using the gourds and pumpkins as pots for my flower decorations. I learned a lot this year and plan on having a more successful crop next year. I've learned you can create order with the vines by pruning and directing their growth. I've also learned how to get rid of the squash bugs. You put a small board next to your plants and then lift it up and squash, the squash bugs. We will also be expanding our garden by 16 sqare feet. We'll have zucchini, summer squash, corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelons, peppers, green beans, garlic and lettuce next summer.

Gotta go for now, but would be interested to hear from any other gardeners, chicken producers or horse enthusiasts.
